The list of the top 10 players in Tennessee is a veritable who’s who of the nation’s best college football players.
It’s a list that’s been published by the Associated Press and the Associated Athletics Sports Writers since 2005.
This year’s list includes three players from Tennessee.
The three are wide receiver A.J. Brown, running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver Jalen Saunders.
The other two are defensive lineman Malik Jackson and cornerback Darron Lee.
Tennessee is also one of seven schools with a quarterback in the top 100.
Tennessee quarterback Jake Locker, who is No. 8 in the 247Sports Composite, also plays for the Vols.
The rest of the country’s top 100 quarterbacks are Alabama’s Nick Saban, Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel, Wisconsin’s Brett Hundley, Penn State’s Pat Mahomes and Florida State’s Jameis Winston.
The top 100 players in the country are based on an annual ranking by 247Sports.
The rankings were compiled by recruiting analyst John Schoenfeld, a former Rivals analyst and NFL Draft analyst.

Tennessee, ranked No. 2 in the nation, had its recruiting season ended last week when it was suspended for failing to report its recruiting class for the 2017 recruiting class.
It was also ordered to undergo a two-year probationary period that ended on March 18.
The Vols were suspended for the first two recruiting classes of the 2016 recruiting class in March, but the university did not suspend its players.
The school was allowed to return to the recruiting scene for a sixth year in 2017.
Tennessee has recruited five-star recruits and one-star prospects since the 2017 class.
The program has two 2017 four-star players in quarterback Jake La Russa, defensive end Shaq Thompson and wide receivers A.A. Jackson and Jalen Lewis.
The team has had a three-star prospect in linebacker Malik Jackson since the 2016 class, while the class has also included two-star defensive tackle Malik Smith.
The top 100 recruits in the SEC are listed in the order of their top-rated class, based on 247Sports’ composite rankings.

He has worked for ESPN, CBS Sports and CBS Sports Insider since 2005 and was a contributor for the college basketball magazine Rivals from 2007 to 2017.
